Jordan Station offers a variety of ways to plan your stay: exhibitions and historic buildings, trails through the Niagara Escarpment landscape, and amenities at Jordan Harbour Marina. The individual locations can help you decide which focus interests you most.

Culture and Local History

The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre has several gallery spaces for temporary and permanent exhibitions. A multipurpose room is also available for public programs and events; individual programs may vary. The museum therefore includes both exhibition spaces and a room for events.

The Fry Family House is a two-storey log house built around 1815. Fry House is a rare surviving example of Pennsylvania German Traditional Architecture in Canada. This architectural style and the documented construction date give the site a special connection to architectural history.

The Jordan Schoolhouse, also known as School Section #4 (S.S. #4), served as a one-room school for Jordan's children for almost 90 years. Its restoration depicts a typical classroom from 1908. Its long use as a school and the classroom shown from a specific year tell two different aspects of the history of education.

The Haines Cemetery is also located on the grounds of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre. It contains the graves of Loyalist settlers and their families, who came to Jordan between 1880 and 1900. Nearby Sho’aríshon Park commemorates the history of the Neutral Nation (Attawandaron), the first known inhabitants of what is now Lincoln.

Fry House and the Jordan Schoolhouse can be visited each year from June to August with a costumed interpreter or as part of a private tour. Check current dates for these seasonal offerings before your trip.

Escarpment, Trails, and Nature

The grounds of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre border the Niagara Escarpment. They include a garden with native species and pollinator plants, as well as an outdoor classroom for nature-based learning and seasonal programs. The museum grounds also provide direct access to the Twenty Valley Trail.

Louth Conservation Area preserves part of the Niagara Escarpment and provides access to the Bruce Trail. The trail there passes through the Escarpment's woodland landscape and features two impressive waterfalls. Thus, woodland and waterfalls are the main features of Louth Conservation Area, while the trail at the museum grounds offers a distinct point of reference for orientation.

Nearby Ellis Property lies west of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre. It is a protected 23-hectare landscape. The combination of protected landscapes and the trail connections mentioned above makes nature and trails a distinct focus when planning your stay.

Jordan Harbour Marina

Jordan Harbour Marina has a double-wide boat launch ramp. Boats can be anchored in the basin on a sandy bottom. If you are planning to launch a boat, check the marina's current launch conditions before arrival.

Amenities listed include washrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. The marina also offers gasoline, diesel fuel, and a sewage pump-out station. As amenities may change, check the current offerings before your trip. This allows you to consider the marina as a distinct part of your plans, without treating it as equivalent to museum and landscape visits.
