By the water: Marine Park and lakes

Garden Bay Marine Park has 200 metres of shoreline. Beyond it, the land rises to the summit of Mount Daniel, forming a backdrop to the shore. The park is also a boating area with a safe anchorage and a small dinghy dock. Fishing, picnicking and swimming are also possible here. This means the park brings together both a boating area and activities along the shore.

Swimming, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are possible at Garden Bay Lake; picnicking by the shore is another activity. Options range from time on the water to a break by the lakeshore. The lake is a separate destination from the Marine Park, with a different selection of specifically mentioned water activities.

Katherine Lake is a popular swimming lake where non-motorized boating is permitted. Katherine Lake Campground is in Garden Bay, near Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast. The lake has picnic facilities, a small playground and washroom facilities. These facilities may change; check current information before travelling. Katherine Lake is also home to an endangered population of Western Painted Turtles. Swimming, non-motorized boating and the lake’s natural setting are among its distinct features.
