Ceregnano offers several ways to explore its heritage: sacred architecture in the town centre, places of remembrance in the municipality, and the cultural landscape along the Canal Bianco. If you are looking for a hotel in Ceregnano, plan your visit around your interests: would you like to explore churches and local history, get out on your bike, or plan your trip around an event? The places and activities below offer some specific starting points.

Churches and architectural history in the town centre

Two religious buildings in the town centre are recognised as being of cultural interest under Article 12 of Italian heritage protection law. The Chiesa di San Martino Vescovo is a parish church; its tall, three-part Neoclassical façade is a distinctive architectural feature. The earliest surviving references to the church concern three notarial deeds drawn up in Rovigo on 26 April 1296. A specific detail of the façade thus sits alongside a precisely dated historical reference.

The Oratorio B.V. Addolorata on Via Verdi in the town centre also has this recognition. As an oratory, it is distinct in designation from the parish church of San Martino Vescovo. Those interested in Ceregnano’s sacred architecture can therefore find two named sites in the centre and distinguish them by their respective classifications.

Places of remembrance in Ceregnano and Pezzoli

Pezzoli, a hamlet of Ceregnano, offers another historical perspective. The Museo della Boje is associated with the peasant movement that emerged there in 1884. The place and year give this subject a specific historical context; unlike the churches, it concerns a social movement.

Ceregnano is also home to the Percorso della memoria. Memorial plaques there commemorate massacres during the Second World War. This distinguishes two different subjects in local remembrance: the peasant movement associated with Pezzoli and the commemoration of wartime atrocities.

Villas and landscapes along the Canal Bianco

Three complexes listed as IRVV villas are located along the Canal Bianco, each with a different location description. Corte detta “Le Procurative” is in Località Procurative, in a bend of the Canal Bianco. Tenuta Stellà, also called Corte Ferrari-Pizzardo, is near the village of Lama on the left bank of the Canal Bianco, along the road to Baricetta. Casa Passarella is on the road along the Canal Bianco’s left-bank embankment towards the Adriatic, before the Gavello bridge.

Each description locates the properties differently: by a bend and Località, by Lama and the road to Baricetta, and by the embankment and the Gavello bridge. This adds further architectural and landscape features along the river to the religious buildings in the town centre.

Cycling routes and paths by the water

Ceregnano is connected to Rovigo by a cycling route along the Adigetto. A shorter version of the Ciclovia della Felicità runs via the Ponte di Lama and is listed as approximately 25 kilometres long. This version was described in a 2015 tourism project. If you plan to ride it today, check the route and conditions before setting out.

The Ippovia Canalbianco describes a different kind of route: a riding trail. In a 2015 tourism project, it runs along wooded riverbanks where the Bosco della Palà is located. The cycling connection, shorter route, and riding trail differ both in mode of travel and in the landmarks mentioned. This lets you choose among the routes according to your planned activity without treating them as interchangeable.

Getting there and event dates

Lama station is in the municipality of Ceregnano. During the timetable period from 14 June to 12 December 2026, regional train 18096 stops in Ceregnano on its journey from Lama to Rovigo and carries bicycles. If you plan to use this train for a trip with your bike, check the timetable before travelling. The cycling route along the Adigetto and bicycle carriage on this train are two separate planning details.

Ceregnano in Fiera can also be described by its individual editions: in 2023, the event took place on 1–3 September and 8–10 September in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. The 2024 edition included street food. If you would like to plan your trip around an event, check the dates for the edition you want to attend.
