Village center, church, and Rocca
The entrance to Fibbialla is marked by the rectory church of San Michele, around which the village center is also arranged. The church of San Michele Arcangelo was built in the 15th century and rebuilt at the end of the 18th century. It houses paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as a 15th-century sculpture depicting the Annunciation.
When considering the dates, it is worth distinguishing between the building’s history and its artworks: the rebuilding took place later than the original construction, while the paintings and sculpture add further historical layers.
Significant remains of the Rocca are located above the church. Their position adds another historical landmark to the church, a reference point in the village center.
