Lido Di Camaiore: Beach, Cycling and Art
Accommodation in Lido Di Camaiore
Lido di Camaiore combines a fine-sand beach more than four kilometres long with its history as a seaside resort, a section of the Ciclovia Tirrenica and specific cultural attractions. When choosing your destination, you can consider these highlights separately: the beach, cycling, a structure by the sea and art appeal to different interests and together offer a concrete picture of the place.
Beach and seaside resort
The beach in Lido di Camaiore is more than four kilometres long and has fine sand. These two features provide a concrete basis for a coastal stay: the length describes its extent, while the fine sand is a characteristic of the beach. Lido di Camaiore has been a seaside resort since the early 20th century. This brings together a history as a holiday destination for beachgoers and a clearly measured stretch of coastline. If the beach is the deciding factor in your choice of destination, you can take both this seaside resort tradition and the length of the beach into account.
Cycling along the seafront
Another highlight is the section of the Ciclovia Tirrenica in Lido di Camaiore. It runs along the entire seafront and is more than three kilometres long. Via Astoria marks the section at the border with Pietrasanta; at the other end is Fosso dell’Abate, on the border with Viareggio. The length and boundary points refer to the local section and offer two different ways to orient yourself: the endpoints locate it, while the distance indicates its scale. Its route along the seafront makes cycling here a specific coastal activity, rather than just a general idea for something to do.
The pier by the sea
The Pontile di Lido di Camaiore is 285 metres long and four metres wide. These measurements show its distinctly elongated, narrow shape. At the end is an oval of around 700 square metres, with a glazed area and a bar. The length and width refer to the pier, while the approximate area refers to the oval at its end. In rough seas, surfers set off from the pier with their boards; this use depends on sea conditions.
Art and guided tours
The Galleria Europa is an exhibition space for art exhibitions and cultural events. For travellers who want to include art in their travel plans alongside the beach and cycling, it is a specific cultural attraction in Lido di Camaiore.
