Prenn can be reached on foot via several routes. The walking trail from the Verdins-Tall cable car’s upper station is easy and almost flat; a hiking route from Oberkirn passes through Prenn and Untertall on its way to Verdins. Local landmarks include the Parish Church of St John and St Paul and the restored Tonigbauern Mill.

Hiking Trails and Orientation

The walking trail to the mountain village of Prenn leads from the upper station of the Verdins-Tall cable car to Prenn. It is an easy, almost flat walk and offers views over the Passeier Valley along the way. An easy family walk takes about 20 minutes to reach Mountain Lodge Prennanger in Prenn. From Oberkirn, the hiking route passes through Prenn and Untertall before continuing to Verdins on the southern slope of Tallner Berg. The route reaches Prenn via Trail No. 40A; after the church, it branches downhill.

When planning, it is worth noting three details: the easy, almost flat terrain and the views along the walking trail, the roughly 20-minute walk to the lodge on the family hike, and the trail number and turnoff on the route from Oberkirn. This will help you compare the information with your preferred starting point, destination and timeframe.

Winter Hiking and Tobogganing

In the Hirzer area, the winter hiking trail is well maintained and suitable for families with children. You can rent a toboggan at Gasthaus Sterneck for the descent. Winter operations and snow conditions vary by season; check conditions before setting out to make sure the trail and tobogganing option are available for your visit.

Church, Mill and Dining

The Parish Church of St John and St Paul stands in Prenn and is considered a picturesque little church. The restored Tonigbauern Mill is near Gasthaus Sterneck in Prenn, on the road towards Hochwies. Beside the church is a public playground, 100 metres from Mountain Lodge Prennanger. Its facilities may change.
