Alì appeals to travelers with a range of interests: its designated protected area and geology, as well as historic architecture in the town center. When looking for a hotel, it helps to first decide which of these themes you want to shape your stay. You can also use Alì Terme as a reference point when planning your journey.

Protected Area and Geological Features

The Riserva Naturale Orientata Fiumedinisi e Monte Scuderi also includes the municipal territory of Alì. It is designated as the Natura 2000 site ZSC ITA030010 Fiume Fiumedinisi, Monte Scuderi. In the area, the reserve protects, among other things, geomorphological features of heavy-metal layering in the subsoil. There are also deposits of various metals, including copper, zinc, silver, antimony, iron, and lead. The layering and the deposits describe two different geological aspects: a feature of the subsoil and the metals found in the area. If you would like to include nature and geology in your travel plans, this combination is a distinctive feature of Alì.

Palazzo Maggiore and Palazzo Brunaccini

Palazzo Maggiore is located in the town center of Alì. The palazzo dates from the late 16th or early 17th century. It is an example of Michelangelo Mannerism and lies stylistically on the boundary between Classicism and Baroque. The dating places its construction between two centuries; the stylistic description positions it between two movements. Palazzo Brunaccini is an example of civic architecture in the historic center of Alì and is associated with the history of the local nobility. The two architectural themes thus differ: Maggiore is described in terms of its construction period and style, while Brunaccini is characterized by its civic architecture and connection to the nobility.

Access to Palazzo Brunaccini is also worth considering: the palace is not open to the public every day. Access is generally available as part of cultural events or special events organized by the municipality. If you are planning a visit, check in advance whether a suitable date is scheduled during your stay.
