Explore Trisobbio through its distinct highlights: the castle, churches with frescoes and paintings, walking trails of varying lengths, sports facilities and regional dishes. If you’re looking for a hotel in Trisobbio, these themes can help you plan your days around culture, exercise or food.

Art, architectural history and an August event

Trisobbio Castle was already standing at the beginning of the 13th century. Its long history makes it a historical landmark in the town. A walking trail of about eight kilometres also leads to the castle.

The Chiesa Parrocchiale N.S. Maria Assunta offers several points of interest for art lovers: the frescoes were painted by Pietro Ivaldi, known as Il Muto, with the help of his brother Tommaso. The church also houses two paintings by Michele Beccaria, who was born in Trisobbio in 1568. The frescoes and paintings thus link the church’s decoration with the names of two artists.

In the Chiesa di San Giovanni in Frazione Villa Botteri, a fresco of San Bovo attests to the church’s very ancient origins. The fresco was rediscovered a few years ago. The Chiesa di San Rocco is associated both with a panoramic view and an event in the local calendar: on 16 August, the people of Trisobbio celebrate their patron saint there.

On clear days, the panorama from the Chiesa di San Rocco can extend as far as the Alps. The landscape views and the 16 August celebration offer two distinct reasons to visit this place.

Municipal information updated in March 2025 states that the park and tower of the castle can be visited free of charge during the restaurant’s opening hours. Check this visiting arrangement before your visit.

Walking trails, scenery and sports

For a riverside walk, the Percorso Verde connects Montaldo and Trisobbio along an approximately two-kilometre route beside the Rio Stanavazzo. Another walking trail is about eight kilometres long and passes through the Tartufaia and the village before reaching Trisobbio Castle. It follows unpaved paths through lush woodland and to scenic viewpoints. The two options differ in length and route, without requiring an estimated walking time.

The Percorso 7 offers a different route: it passes through a wooded area and across a scenic plateau before descending into the Rio Stanavasso valley to the sports centre with its swimming pools. The connection between the trail and the sports centre makes this a distinct option alongside the two walking trails.

The Piscine di Trisobbio sports complex includes swimming pools and facilities for football, tennis, beach volleyball and basketball. These facilities offer specific options for a range of activities, complementing the trails through woodland, valley and countryside.

Regional dishes and truffle hunting

Enoteca Antico Torchio serves traditional dishes from Monferrato. These include ravioli al vino and battuta or tagliata made with Piedmontese Fassona beef. As opening arrangements may change, check the opening hours before your visit.

At the Tartufaia di Trisobbio, visitors can take part in a genuine truffle hunt. Confirm your participation before travelling. If you’d like to take the approximately eight-kilometre walking trail with a guide, check availability in advance as well.
