Biassono combines local cultural history with a distinct motorsport theme. The Museo Civico “Carlo Verri” is devoted to the history and culture of Biassono and the Brianza. It was founded in 1977; the ethnographic section and themed exhibitions are on the ground floor. This offers a perspective extending from the town to the wider cultural region of the Brianza.

Cultural History and Architecture

The Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Martino Vescovo preserves several furnishings from the 17th century, as well as wooden statues. The veneration of Saint Martin of Tours has been documented since the 13th century in connection with the church. These dates refer to different aspects: the veneration is attested earlier than the furnishings mentioned.

Villa Verri is in the historic centre of Biassono. Its original central section was probably built as a country residence for the Verri family at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. This tentative dating and its connection to the Verri family give the building its own historical context.

Ca' dei Bossi reopened to the public in 2016 and takes part in the annual “Ville aperte” event in the Brianza. The building is distinguished by a large round-arched portal with regular rusticated masonry, which provides access from outside. Other traces of the past can be seen at the remains of the Roman villa near Cascina Sant’Andrea: these include a section of wall, a cistern, a water conduit, and fragments of a floor.

Motorsport and the Race Track

The first bend after the start-finish straight at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza is now called Curva Biassono; it was previously known as Curva Grande. The Muretto dei Campioni is also part of the motorsport scene: it consists of ceramic objects bearing the autographs of prominent figures in motorsport, as well as the winners of the Formula 1 Gran Premio d'Italia and the Gran Premio delle Nazioni motorcycle race.

The Autodromo di Monza is open to visitors year-round, except during the Christmas holidays. You can see the Autodromo Nazionale Monza’s track layout on a ride on the small train, which passes through chicanes, bends, and straights. The Monza Circuit Experience also offers various guided tours in cars and minibuses. If you are planning a visit, check the opening hours and the specific options in advance.

Routes and Events

For cycling enthusiasts, the “106. Scoprire i parchi della Brianza in bicicletta” route starts at Biassono railway station. On another route, from Monza to Carate in Parco Valle Lambro, there is a steel bridge over the Lambro on the section between Lesmo and Biassono. Route 106 is identified by its starting point at the railway station; on the Monza–Carate route, the bridge is a specific feature of the section mentioned.

The Festa del Ringraziamento includes a procession through numerous streets of Biassono.
