Arveaco has several clear connections to hiking and cultural destinations. The Sentiero della Resistenza 7ª Brigata Matteotti runs through the village; the Monte Gallo route passes through Sereno di Sopra on the return journey to Arveaco. The trail to Monte Colmo, the Besume climbing crag, and Costa di Arveaco are also named destinations. When planning, it is worth distinguishing between routes that pass through, return journeys, and approaches.

Trails and Routes

The Besume climbing crag is a 15-minute walk from Arveaco. This time refers to the approach; you should allow separate time for the climbing activity. If planning a trip in winter, you should also take road conditions into account.

The trail to Monte Colmo reaches an altitude of 1,003 m. The Monte Gallo route reaches 1,144 m above sea level and passes through Sereno di Sopra on the return journey to Arveaco. The two routes therefore differ both in their stated elevations and in their connection to the village: Monte Colmo is the elevation destination reached, while Monte Gallo has a described return route to Arveaco.

The third stage of the AVS route from Vobarno to Treviso also has a connection to Arveaco. After an optional detour to Chiesetta del Monte Besume, it continues toward the village along a paved road. Its route therefore differs from that of the Monte Gallo route: there, the return journey passes through Sereno di Sopra to Arveaco; here, the stage continues toward Arveaco after the detour. This is a specific distinction between a return journey and a continuing stage to bear in mind when planning your route.

Memorial Trail and Chapel

The Sentiero della Resistenza 7ª Brigata Matteotti is dedicated to the VII Brigata Matteotti and runs through Arveaco. Along the route, you can climb to the chapel on the summit of Monte Besume at 1,115 m; it is dedicated to the partisans. The dedication to the Brigata Matteotti and the chapel’s dedication to the partisans give the trail a clear commemorative connection. The route thus links the passage through Arveaco with a named summit destination.

Dolomite Landscape and Elevations

Costa di Arveaco adds a geological point of interest to the trails. It lies northeast of Arveaco, consists of dolomite, and is at an altitude of 1,036 m. In terms of elevation, it is above Monte Colmo at 1,003 m and below the chapel on Monte Besume at 1,115 m and Monte Gallo at 1,144 m above sea level. This gives the geological landscape its own place among the named high-altitude destinations.

Distances for Orientation

An 8 km route leads from the valley floor to Arveaco. By contrast, the 15-minute walk to the climbing crag describes the approach from Arveaco. These figures refer to different scales: the route from the valley floor to the village and the walk from the village to a specific destination. If you include both in your travel plans, keep them separate: the first describes the connection to Arveaco, and the second the access to the crag.
