Piani: Sports Facilities and Connections to Plodio

The sports area in Località Piani brings together football, bocce, roller skating, and tennis. An archery range is a short distance away. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing these facilities in the locality from other points of interest in the municipality of Plodio: the sports area is a specific feature of the locality, while the festival and protected area relate to the municipality. This allows you to consider sporting interests and a possible event date separately when choosing your destination. If you are looking for a hotel in Piani, consider whether the local sports facilities or an event in Plodio will play a greater part in your stay.

Sports Facilities in Località Piani

A regional sports listing from 2022 mentions a full-size football pitch for 11-a-side football in Località Piani. The sports area also includes a small-sided football pitch. These two formats distinguish the football facilities by pitch type; alongside them, bocce, roller skating, and tennis offer other types of physical activity. So if you are looking for a sports-focused destination, you can distinguish between the football facilities and the other disciplines rather than classifying the area simply as a sports destination.

The three facilities can be compared in specific terms: the tennis court covers 713 m², the roller-skating rink 416 m², and the bocce court 155 m². Of the three, the tennis court is the largest, followed by the roller-skating rink and the bocce court. The measurements provide a common basis for comparing facilities of different kinds, but say nothing about their importance. When planning your trip, area and sport answer two different questions: the square footage makes size comparable, while the sport indicates which activity interests you.

Getting Around the Area

Pro Loco and Polisportiva are listed as the organizations managing the recreational facilities in the sports area. If you are planning to use them, check current management responsibilities and terms of use in advance. An archery range is a short distance from the sports area in Località Piani. A spacious 1,200 m² car park is located at the archery range. The car park is associated with the archery range, which is near the sports area.

A Regione Liguria Wi-Fi hotspot is listed on Strada Provinciale 11 in Piani. If you rely on an internet connection during your stay, check whether the hotspot is available beforehand. This lets you take it into account when planning without counting on a connection being available.

Plodio at the Municipal Level

The municipality of Plodio offers two further points of interest. The Festa dell'Agricoltore takes place every year in July; the exact dates vary. If the festival is important to your trip, check the dates for the relevant year before planning your stay around it. The protected area of Sorgente Sieizi, covering 9 hectares, is also in Plodio. Together, they offer a recurring event and a protected area with a specified size. Both extend the picture of the municipality, while the sports area is a specific feature of Località Piani.
