Röjtökmuzsaj brings together wellness, religious architecture and cycling, offering different themes for a stay. The Szidónia Kastélyszálloda is a specific hotel option: external guests can also use its bathhouse, but only after booking in advance by phone and subject to availability. Churches, monuments and cycling routes add other local highlights.

Wellness at the Szidónia Kastélyszálloda

The wellness facilities at the Szidónia Kastélyszálloda include a swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, Kneipp walking pool, heated ceramic therapy loungers, a relaxation room with loungers, and a fitness room. The facilities therefore offer not only water and warmth, but also relaxation and exercise.

External guests can use the bathhouse after booking in advance by phone; places are allocated subject to availability. If you are planning your visit, arrange the time by phone beforehand and do not count on being admitted without a booking.

Churches and chapels in the districts

The Roman Catholic church in Röjtökmuzsaj stands at a corner on the main street. After the former church was demolished in 1869, construction of the present church began according to plans by Nándor Handler, an architect from Sopron.

In the Muzsaj district, the chapel was built in 1923 and dedicated to the apparition of the Virgin Mary at Lourdes. In the Röjtök district stands the Kisboldogasszony Parish Church. The neo-Gothic church is a well-known pilgrimage site in the area and houses a 16th-century wooden statue of the Madonna of Wimpác.

The religious landmarks are distinct: the Lourdes-dedicated chapel is in Muzsaj, while Röjtök has the neo-Gothic pilgrimage church with its historic statue of the Madonna. The Muzsaji Horgásztó is also in the Muzsaj district, making the chapel and lake two named local landmarks in the same district.

The castle and historic monuments

The Széchényi family manor house was converted into Felsőbüki Nagy-Verseghy Castle in the second half of the 18th century. In 1926, under Verseghy Nagy Elek, it acquired its present form. This sequence distinguishes the conversion into a castle from the building’s later appearance.

The Muzsaji Vízimalom on the Ikva is an industrial heritage monument that stands partly on stilts. It is currently not open to visitors, so do not plan it as a place you can visit.

The town’s late Baroque features include a Holy Trinity column from 1794 and a statue of Saint Anne from 1800. There are six years between the two dates. The column and statue are therefore two distinct examples of late Baroque art from a relatively short period.

Route options for planning your trip

The Fertő-Balaton cycling route passes through Röjtökmuzsaj. On the Alpokalja circular tour, the town is listed as a stop at the Szidónia Castle Hotel. These are different route connections: the cycling route is described as passing through the town, while the circular tour lists the hotel as a stop. If you are choosing where to go based on a route, consider which of these connections matters for your plans.
