Kletkamp combines a historic estate with a hilly landscape. When choosing a hotel, you can consider whether the manor house’s architectural history or hiking and cycling routes should be the focus of your trip. Both topics can be assessed based on specific features and routes.

Manor House and Historic Estate Complex

The core of the manor house is a two-storey half-timbered double house dating from 1547. It is considered the oldest manor house in Schleswig-Holstein. The projecting front section dates from 1703. The two dates therefore refer to different parts of the building: the half-timbered core and the later front section.

Gut Kletkamp was originally a Renaissance moated castle. The surviving historic complex includes the gatehouse and part of the former moat. The estate’s history thus brings together the manor house’s architectural form and its original character as a moated castle. Those interested in historic architecture will find both a clearly dated core and traces of the former complex here.

Which option suits you depends on whether you want to explore the area on foot or by bicycle.
