Schwentinental offers two different ways to shape your stay: Schwentine Park and the Cultural Trail. The park is a recreation area with play facilities, nature experiences and animals, while the longer route focuses on cultural and nature-related themes. You can tailor your stay to suit whether you want to spend time in the park or explore Schwentinental on foot or by bike.

Relaxation and wildlife watching in Schwentine Park

Schwentine Park covers around 40 hectares. Facilities include a large playground, a nature discovery bridge and a mini-golf course. Visitors can observe, pet and feed around 25 animal species at the wildlife park. The park brings together a range of activities and nature experiences. Across its 40 hectares, Schwentine Park combines relaxation with opportunities for play, nature experiences and wildlife watching.

On foot or by bike: the Cultural Trail

The Schwentinental Cultural Trail is an 8.7-kilometre route for hiking and cycling. Its 25 stops combine historical and artistic content with nature and environmental education. The route includes the Schwentinental Wildlife Park and a nearby ecological educational trail. QR codes provide additional information that can be accessed using a smartphone. Unlike a visit to a single recreation area, the Cultural Trail spreads its themes across a route through Schwentinental. You can choose between a visit to the park and a longer exploration on foot or by bike.

Getting to Schwentine Park

You can reach Schwentine Park by local bus or by renting a bike through SprottenFlotte. SprottenFlotte stations are located at the town hall, the railway station and the swimming pool. This gives you two options to plan around: taking the bus or using a rental bike. If you plan to use SprottenFlotte, check availability in advance and take the listed locations into account when planning your trip.
