Dolgenbrodt offers several clearly distinct points of interest for planning your trip: the small Anger village, the Dahme, the bathing area at Langer See and Dolgensee. You can plan your stay around whether you want to walk through the village, spend time at a bathing area, cross a river on foot or by bicycle, or explore the protected landscape. This brings village architecture, water and nature conservation together as different themes for your trip.

Anger village and viewpoints by the water

On a walk through the small Anger village, you can see some of its original buildings. This walk focuses on the village itself and its buildings, while the waterside spots offer a different emphasis. By the Dahme, you can pause beneath an old willow and look out over the river. A viewpoint on the Dahme Bridge offers views over Dolgensee. The willow provides a place to rest by the river, while the bridge offers a view over the lake—two different perspectives on the waterside landscape.

River crossing and Dahme Cycle Route

Since 2009, residents and tourists have been able to cross the river in Dolgenbrodt on foot or by bicycle using the cable-stayed pylon bridge. The bridge made it possible to create the Dahme Cycle Route. Its second stage continues towards Dolgenbrodt and Märkisch Buchholz. These are two different details to bear in mind when planning: the bridge describes how you can cross the river in Dolgenbrodt, while the stage information shows the direction in which the cycle route continues.

Bathing area at Langer See

The bathing area in Dolgenbrodt is located at Langer See. Visitors can enjoy sports, games and relaxation there; the beach area is a grassy field, and the bathing area also has a volleyball court. This makes it different from the resting place by the Dahme, where the main attraction is pausing to look out over the river. If you plan to visit the bathing area, check which facilities are currently available before you go.

Wooded landscape and protected area

Dolgenbrodt lies in a heavily wooded area within a 6.9 km² triangle of land between Langer See, part of the Storkow Lake Chain, and Dolgensee, which is designated as a nature reserve. The bathing area is also located at Langer See; Dolgensee adds the protected-area aspect to the picture. The Dolgensee Nature Reserve extends across areas in Dolgenbrodt and Gussow.

The Dolgensee FFH site covers 308 hectares. A small alluvial island in the western part of the lake is an important breeding area for waterbirds. The nature reserve protects rare wild plant communities whose populations are threatened, in particular the extensive lakeshore vegetation of Dolgensee. For nature enthusiasts, this means two distinct points of interest: the island’s importance for waterbirds and the protection of plant communities and lakeshore vegetation. This gives the Dolgensee area a different focus from the bathing area at Langer See.
