Cleebronn brings together a range of travel interests: rides, wine and historic buildings. If you’re looking for a hotel in Cleebronn, you can start planning around the things that matter most to you. Attractions in the area and across the wider Heilbronn destination offer a variety of options.
Thrill Rides and Wine Tasting
The “Karacho” launched coaster at Tripsdrill Adventure Park accelerates to 100 km/h in 1.6 seconds. If this ride is a key part of your travel plans, check the latest operating information before your visit, as details may change. For a different experience, visit the “Christophsblick” wine bar on Michaelsberg. It is run by the Cleebronn-Güglingen winegrowers’ cooperative (Weingärtnergenossenschaft Cleebronn-Güglingen eG) together with Storz Weinkellerei, Weingut Holzwarth and Weingut Ranspacher Hof. According to the tourism information, the wine bar is open on Saturdays and Sundays. Check the latest operating information before planning your visit.
Castle, Church and Town Hall
Magenheim Castle sits above Cleebronn and is a large, well-preserved and historically authentic Hohenstaufen castle complex. Its features include a palas, the well-preserved so-called “Gothic stone house” and masonry made of bossed ashlar blocks. These names give the historic building a distinctive character.
St Michael’s Church was first mentioned in a document in 793 and was the centre of an early Christian parish district. After church use came to a temporary end in the 16th century, it served as a barn. It was restored in 1727 under Count Johann Philipp von Stadion; a Capuchin hospice was added in 1739 and was run by monks until 1823. The sequence of early mention, changed use and restoration helps make the building’s long history clear.
The present-day town hall also reflects the town’s history: it was built in 1736 under Count Johann Philipp von Stadion in what was then Neu-Cleebronn. So-called “envy faces” (Neidfratzen) can be seen on its south and west sides. St Michael’s Church and the town hall thus represent different chapters in Cleebronn’s architectural history, while Magenheim Castle adds a Hohenstaufen castle complex above the town.
