If you’re looking for a hotel in Pégomas, the best time to visit may depend on whether you want to focus on the weekly market, mimosa season, walking trails or cultural heritage. Pégomas offers several distinct highlights: a market held year-round, seasonal mimosa experiences, two walks with different profiles and the Church of Saint-Pierre. The details below can help you match your interests to the time of your trip.

Market, mimosa and seasonal experiences

The market on Place du Logis is held year-round every Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It offers fresh, regional products, including fruit, vegetables, handmade goods and other local products. Check the date and selection again before your visit.

The Jardin des mimosas is home to 11 varieties of mimosa. The Route du Mimosa also passes through Pégomas, with the town located at kilometre 115 of the route. The town therefore combines a garden with a variety of mimosa species and a clear connection to the Route du Mimosa.

Riviera Mimosa sells products made from mimosa, such as syrup, jam, scented products and soaps. The harvest takes place throughout the year: mimosa is harvested from December to mid-March, and eucalyptus during the rest of the year. Riviera Mimosa offers tours of its distillery by appointment.

At La Colline des Mimosas, mimosa and eucalyptus leaves are sold directly by the producer. As the selection may change, check which products are available before visiting. Another seasonal speciality is the Mimosette: this pastry was created in Pégomas and is available only during mimosa season. The annual “Bal du mimosa” opens the mimosa season there with dinner followed by dancing. If this event is important to your trip, check the specific event dates in advance.

Two walks with different profiles

The Sentier Clavary is a 2-kilometre circular trail. It is listed as taking 50 minutes, with 150 metres of elevation gain and a moderate difficulty level. The trail passes through Mediterranean woodland and offers views of the village and the sea along the way. Views depend on the weather; trail conditions and difficulty may also vary depending on the weather. The distance, estimated time and elevation gain give you practical points of reference for fitting this walk into your day.

The Chemin de l’Ecluse follows a different route: this walking trail starts in Pégomas, continues to Auribeau-sur-Siagne and runs along the banks of the Siagne. The two routes therefore differ in their layout and orientation. The Sentier Clavary is described as a circular trail with an estimated time and elevation gain; the Chemin de l’Ecluse focuses on its destination and riverside route.

Church of Saint-Pierre and works of art

The current building of the Church of Saint-Pierre dates from the 18th century. Inside is a painting from the Napoleonic era depicting Saint Peter healing a paralysed man. There are also two gilded polychrome wooden statues from the 18th century: one of Saint Peter and one of the Virgin Mary. The dates highlight different things: the church building and statues date from the 18th century, while the painting has a connection to the Napoleonic era.
