When planning a trip to Isola, several different themes take center stage: ski touring, hiking trails, water and wellness facilities, and historic buildings. If you are looking for a hotel, you can start by considering which focus you want to shape your stay. The specific differences can help you put activities and sightseeing into context and plan your trip according to your own interests.

Ski Touring and Hiking Trails

Isola 2000 has two marked and secured ski touring routes. These routes offer a concrete starting point if you want ski touring to be the focus of your trip. The Boucle de Louch offers a different way to enjoy the outdoors: it is a marked, three-hour circular hiking trail in Isola. Its circular route and stated duration give this hike a clear framework for planning your day.

The Boucle de Louch passes through larch and birch trees. These tree species give the route description a distinct sense of the landscape. Another hiking route leads to the Lacs de Terre Rouge: it passes three lakes and runs above a peat bog. This lets you choose a hike based on different landscape features—either the path among larches and birches, or the lakes and bog along the route to the Lacs de Terre Rouge.

Water and Wellness at Aquavallée

Aquavallée’s Océane area includes a 34°C whirlpool, two saunas with dry heat at 85°C, and a hammam with humid heat at 45°C. The details distinguish the heat facilities by type and temperature. The type of heat is also specified for the sauna and hammam, while the whirlpool is described by its temperature. This lets you choose among the different facilities based on what interests you most.

The Aquavallée area also includes a swimming pool with four lanes measuring 25 m × 10 m, a 35 m-long water slide, and a leisure pool measuring 120 m. The pools, slide and heat facilities each offer a different aspect of Aquavallée. If you include water-based activities in your trip plans, you can choose between swimming, sliding and the wellness facilities described above.

Historic Buildings in Isola

The Clocher Saint-Pierre is a Romanesque bell tower with Lombard influences dating from the mid-12th century. It stands alone in a meadow after a flood on the Guerche swept away its church. Its present location and the history of the church are therefore connected: the bell tower was left standing alone after the flood swept the church away.

The Chapelle Sainte Anne offers a different historical perspective. It is a religious building from the 15th century and a testament to the Baroque period. Free visits and guided tours are available at the Chapelle Sainte Anne. When comparing the two buildings, the Clocher Saint-Pierre stands out for its Romanesque architecture, Lombard influences and the history of the church; the Chapelle is distinguished by its period of origin and its Baroque connection.
