Discover Longuefuye
Accommodation in Longuefuye
Longuefuye offers several practical starting points for planning a stay: an easy 6 km walking trail, farm visits and restored heritage sites. When looking for a hotel, you can prioritise these according to what matters to you on your trip. For visits that require reservations or have changing arrangements, it is advisable to confirm the date and details before travelling.
Hiking and Walking Routes
The “Circuit de Gennes-sur-Glaize à Longuefuye” is an easy 6 km walking trail. Its distance and grade give you a concrete reference point when deciding how to fit the walk into your day.
The “Circuit des Boucles de Gennes-Longuefuye” is a signposted walking route in Gennes-Longuefuye. An update to the “Boucles de Gennes-sur-Glaize et Longuefuye” walking route has been confirmed. As route descriptions and distances may change, check the municipal route information and current signs on site before setting out.
Farm Visits
Two visitor experiences offer different focuses: Les Vergers de la Rouérie is about orchards, cellars and tastings, while the educational sheep farm Villette en Direct focuses on sheep farming and agricultural practices.
Les Vergers de la Rouérie produces cider, apple juice, perry, pommeau and apple cider vinegar. Visits to the orchards and cellar, followed by a tasting, are available by reservation. The product range may change; when booking, also confirm the current arrangements for visits.
Villette en Direct is located at La Cour de Villette in Longuefuye. Sheep farming has been carried out there since August 2017; since November 2022, the farm has welcomed visitors to introduce them to its operations. The self-guided tour around the farm presents agricultural practices and the livestock-raising system; the visit also includes a visit to the sheepfold. The topics covered range from working methods on the farm to a firsthand look at sheep farming. Visit arrangements may change. Before travelling, check whether visits are being offered and under what conditions.
Church and Heritage
The Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Visitation is part of the Pays de la Loire’s regional heritage. While the choir was restored in 2024, in 2023 it was initially proposed that support be requested from the Département to restore the two side altars and the high altar. This distinguishes a completed phase of work from a proposed project, a useful point to bear in mind if you are interested in the restoration history.
The restored “plaque de cocher de l’Espérance” (waymarker plaque) is part of Longuefuye’s smaller heritage and is dated to around 1860. As a waymarker, it offers a historical point of reference different from the church.
Ponds, Swimming and Fishing
Swimming is expressly prohibited in the ponds listed by the municipality; check the current signs on site. The municipality publishes fishing information for the Longuefuye pond. If you plan to fish, check access conditions and local rules before travelling. This lets you consider the swimming ban and fishing arrangements separately, according to the waters and activities specified.
