Religious heritage
The Église Saint-Ursmar in Eppe-Sauvage was listed as a historic monument by decree dated 14 April 1947. Its main construction phases date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. This means that the precisely dated monument listing and the much earlier construction phases represent two different points of reference in the church’s history.
The commune has a total of 19 religious buildings: one church, eleven oratories, four chapels, one calvary, and two grottoes and statues. The Église Saint-Ursmar is a single, historically dated church; the total count covers the wider range of religious buildings in Eppe-Sauvage. You can focus on the church as a specific cultural landmark or take in the commune’s religious heritage as a whole. The eleven oratories and four chapels make up 15 of the 19 religious buildings, and thus represent the largest numerical share of the collection.
