When choosing a hotel in Les Mureaux, you might first consider whether riverside paths and parks, traces of history or cultural attractions should shape your stay. The town offers a range of options, from paths along the Seine to venues for art and design.

Exploring the Seine and its parks

The Île de Loisirs du Val de Seine is located partly in Les Mureaux and offers several walking and cycling routes throughout the year. There are also four Nordic walking routes, ranging from 2,090 to 11,520 metres. You can compare the stated route lengths when planning. As route availability may change, it is advisable to check the leisure area’s latest information before setting out.

Along the Seine, the Bords de Seine offer almost seven kilometres of accessible paths on the former towpath for environmentally friendly travel. Another green space is the Parc de l’Oseraie: this three-hectare park lies on the banks of the Seine along the towpath and has an educational beehive and a children’s playground. The highest point in the municipality is in the Parc du Sautour and offers panoramic views over the south of the town and the Ecoquartier Molière. Significant biodiversity has also been recorded in this park.

History by the river and around town

The remains of a Gallo-Roman port dating from the 1st century AD have been preserved at the Bords de Seine. The riverbanks also have an Olympic sailing history: sailing events for the 1924 Paris Olympics were held there. The Cercle de la Voile de Paris organised events in Les Mureaux for the 1900 and 1924 Olympic Games. Its clubhouse has been awarded the Île-de-France region’s “Patrimoine d’intérêt régional” label.

Another archaeological landmark is “Terrains avec dolmen,” a dolmen site at 19 rue des Murets in the Les Gros Murs area. A decree dated 16 May 1928 placed the site under protection. Along with the remains of the port, it illustrates the different archaeological traces that you can include as separate destinations in your plans.

Cultural attractions for a range of interests

The Micro-Folie Les Mureaux offers free activities on artistic, recreational and scientific themes. Its Digital Museum presents more than 5,000 works from national and international museums on a large screen. The venue also has a public FabLab with a range of machines for making personalised objects. Check the current programme and access arrangements before your visit.

At the Centre de la danse Pierre-Doussaint, anyone interested in discovering and practising choreographic arts can experience dance. The centre organises workshops and classes throughout the year, free exhibitions and opportunities to meet choreographic artists. The programme also includes performances and events such as battles, festivals and biennials; individual dates may vary.

The state-recognised Conservatoire Gabriel-Fauré offers artistic introduction and training in music, dance, visual arts, drama and puppetry. Its rehearsal rooms are open to musicians of all experience levels, working alone or in groups. The offerings therefore differ: depending on the venue, the focus is on dance practice, a wide-ranging arts programme or music rehearsals.
