Saint-Germain-Lès-Corbeil can be explored through different interests during a stay: the Church of Saint-Vincent-Saint-Germain, the Garden Golf course, and municipal cultural and green spaces. If you are looking for a hotel in the destination, first decide which focus matters for your trip. The church’s architectural history offers a cultural and historical connection; the golf course and practice areas are relevant for travellers interested in golf. Woodland and municipal cultural offerings round out the picture of the town. You can shape your search around the themes you want to explore during your stay.

The Church of Saint-Vincent-Saint-Germain and its history

The Church of Saint-Vincent-Saint-Germain replaced an earlier building that may have dated from the 6th century. The present church was built around 1170–1180, in the second generation of early Gothic architecture. Thus, the approximate early date refers to the predecessor; the period around 1170–1180 applies to the present church.

The four choir windows also have their own historical timeframe: they were probably created around 1220–1225. Their imagery ranges from the Passion and the martyrdom of saints to the Tree of Jesse and the life of Saint Germanus. By decree of 22 June 1908, the windows were classified as protected movable cultural property. The entire church was later classified as a historic monument, by decree of 6 April 2021. The two classifications apply to different elements: the windows in 1908, and the whole church building in 2021.

Golf course and practice areas

The Garden Golf Saint-Germain-les-Corbeil course was established in 1989. It has 18 holes, is 5,762 metres long and has a par of 70. The number of holes, length and par together provide a specific overview of the course. For your trip planning, you can combine these details with the golf facility’s additional amenities: it has a driving range with more than 50 hitting bays, pitching areas and a putting green. The golf offering therefore includes several named types of practice alongside the course itself. If golf is a focus of your trip, consider whether the course itself or practice is more important to you.

Municipal cultural offerings

The Erik Satie Municipal Music School offers workshops for amateur musicians to play music together. You do not necessarily need to take the school’s instrumental lessons to participate. Enrolment and the programme may change; if a workshop is important to your stay, check the current details.

Green spaces and getting there

The municipal woodland of Les Pré-Hauts covers 37 hectares and provides a distinct green-space feature alongside the cultural, historical and sporting attractions. Under a municipal landscape-protection objective, the castle park and its associated vegetation are intended to be designated as EBC for protection. This planning intention adds a focus on preserving green spaces to the town’s nature-related attractions.

For your journey, note that Saint-Germain-Lès-Corbeil has no railway station and relies on neighbouring municipalities for rail services. If travelling by train, plan to connect via a neighbouring municipality. The town is also connected by the nearby Francilienne and a structured public transport network that includes the TZen. Choose your route based on your arrival point and preferred mode of travel, and check current timetables before departure.
