If you are considering Malé Dvorníky as a destination for your hotel stay, the village’s history and cycling routes offer practical starting points for planning. Kápolnadomb is home to a church, a chapel and the municipal cemetery; other historical features can be found elsewhere in Malé Dvorníky. Two cycling routes also pass through the village. These topics give you a basis for deciding whether the local architectural and commemorative heritage or a cycling trip better suits your interests.

Kápolnadomb: Church, Chapel and Cemetery

The municipal cemetery, a church and a chapel are located on Kápolnadomb. The earthen rampart of Kápolnadomb, which still stands today, is considered a remnant of the ring fortification. The Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity is a local heritage site; it is not listed in the Central Register of the Slovak Monument Fund. In 1955, it was converted into a single-nave church with a semicircular presbytery. Near the church, the cemetery contains the Lourdes grotto, with polychrome statues of the Virgin Mary and Saint Bernadette.

Other Historical Features

The cemetery’s main cross dates from 1730. The only surviving part of the original furnishings of the Trinity Chapel is a Baroque painting of the Holy Trinity, which was part of the altar. The chapel near the Calvary dates from the late 19th century. The Kúria on Malá ulica also dates from the late 19th century; it was restored in 2013. The statue of the Victorious Christ was erected in the centre of Malé Dvorníky in 1877. These features reflect different periods in the village’s history, from the Baroque altarpiece and cemetery cross to the restored Kúria.

The Calvary in the North

The Calvary is located on a small hill at the northern edge of Malé Dvorníky, near the Trinity Chapel, which dates from the late 19th century. It consists of three crosses bearing crucified figures, each on a separate plinth shaped like a stone hill. Before 1978, the Calvary was moved to Malé Dvorníky, where it still stands today.

Cycling Routes Through Malé Dvorníky

The Dunajská Streda–Malé Dvorníky–Dunajský Klátov route follows a cycle path and a forest track. A second route runs from Dunajská Streda via Malé Dvorníky, Veľké Dvorníky, Ohrady and Trhová Hradská to Topoľníky; it follows a cycle path, a forest track and a paved road. The second route passes through more named places and also includes a paved road.

Village Festival and Rest Area

The village festival takes place every year on the first Sunday after Pentecost. If the date matters to you, check the current programme before travelling. An unusual rest area with a reed roof is located close to the municipal building. It provides a practical place to take a break.

Malé Dvorníky is located near the Klátov arm. This regional connection complements the village’s history and cycling routes, offering another point to consider when choosing a destination.
