History in Bratland and the municipality of Lurøy

Another historical site in the municipality of Lurøy is Grønsvik kystfort, which offers insight into the local history of the occupation. Preserved fortifications, buildings, and other infrastructure from the occupation recall the fate of the prisoners of war who were forced to build them. The bunker complex at Grønsvik kystfort and the surrounding grounds are open to visitors free of charge year-round. During the season, guided tours, lectures, and concerts are offered and organized. If you plan to attend an event, check the latest dates in advance.
