In Larsnes, the coast and local history offer different points of interest: You can hire canoes at the beach, while Rønneberghuset represents the village’s historic side. When planning your stay, you can decide whether to focus on the beach and water, history and events, or routes. The ferry terminal is also an important landmark for getting your bearings—as a waterfront spot and a transport hub.

Beach, Canoe Hire and Ferry Terminal

Larsnes beach is next to the ferry terminal. There, you can hire canoes for free and experience Larsnes from the water too. There are tables and benches at the beach; the bathing house has a toilet and a shower. If you plan to spend time by the shore, you can take both a water activity and the available facilities into account.

Alongside Larsnes beach at Larsnes brygge, there is a guest pier. The ferry terminal is also a transport hub for the islands. There are bus connections as well as AMBU, a passenger and ambulance boat for the island population and other travellers heading there. This gives the terminal a further role beyond its location by the beach: it brings together the transport connections to the islands mentioned here.

Vardevegen: An Old Transport Route

Vardevegen is the old transport route between Hallebygda and Larsnes. The route can start at the Larsnes ferry terminal or at Sande Town Hall and leads to a covered rest area with a view of the sea near Halleosen. The route description thus links a possible starting point in Larsnes with a destination near Halleosen; alternatively, Sande Town Hall can be used as the starting point. For travellers who would like to include a historic route in their plans alongside the shore, Vardevegen offers a distinct point of interest.

Rønneberghuset and Events

Rønneberghuset is a historic property in Søre Sunnmøre. Built in 1879, it was the Rønneberg family’s main residence in Larsnes. After extensive restoration, the house is now presented in its original splendour. Its history and its current use as an event venue give the place two distinct cultural connections.

Today, Rønneberghuset operates as an event venue and serves homemade food made with local ingredients. Another event in Larsnes is Feel It’s annual dinner show at Landsbyhuset Breidablik. If you would like to plan your trip around the show, check the specific event dates in advance.

Tailor-made packages with culinary experiences and overnight stays are also available at Kråen Gard in Larsnes. This offers another way to include culinary experiences in your stay, alongside what is available at Rønneberghuset.

Nature Destinations in the Sande Destination

In the Sande destination, the peaks Grøntua and Hornet lie north of Sandshamn. Both offer views of outer Sunnmøre and the ocean. The hiking trail to the peaks is accessible from Sandshamn and Våge and is well marked throughout. These access points and trail markings provide guidance if you include the peaks in your plans for Sande.

Another destination in Sande is Hidsegga, whose summit is 556 metres high. A visibility disc there lists the names of nearby peaks; from the top, there are views towards Herøy and the Flåvær archipelago. Unlike Grøntua and Hornet, the specific points of reference mentioned here are the views towards Herøy and Flåvær.
