Uderna offers several distinct points of interest for a stay: the protected Uderna Manor Park, the hiking trail in the Elva River Valley and the sports facilities at Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus. There are also historic settlement sites and the Vibu metsarada forest archery trail. If you are looking for hotels in Uderna, you can choose what to explore based on the themes that matter during your trip: cultural heritage, landscape or exercise. The activities also differ in route length, type and season.

Manor Park and Historic Traces

Uderna Manor Park is a protected park covering 3.9 hectares and is designated as a 19th-century architectural monument. For travelers interested in cultural heritage, it is a tangible point of interest in the area. The area and the monument designation describe different aspects of the same park.

The historic village of Uderna includes two settlement sites. Both are now located within the village of Kalme; one of them is under state protection. When considering the area's history, the historic connection to Uderna should therefore be distinguished from its present-day administrative location in Kalme.

Hiking and Archery

The hiking trail in the Elva River Valley is located in the village of Uderna and is 15 kilometers long. Along the way, it offers views of several lakes, streams and sandstone outcrops. The route combines a specified distance with a variety of landscapes.

The Vibu metsarada forest archery trail offers a different kind of activity: it is 2.5 kilometers long and has 14 targets. The hiking trail emphasizes its greater length and landscape views, while the archery trail focuses on its targets. The two activities therefore differ not only in length but also in the type of activity they center on.

Sports Facilities at Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus

Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus has health and fitness trails that can be used year-round, with lengths of 1.5, 3 and 6 kilometers. You can choose from three route lengths. Fat bikes and mountain bikes are also available to rent year-round. Mountain bikes and kick scooters can be rented for a few hours or for a day. If rentals are important to your plans, check the current rental terms in advance, as rental details may change as part of normal operations.

During the winter season, the center provides direct access to cross-country ski trails. This seasonal availability sets them apart from the year-round trails and bike rentals. For a winter trip, access to the ski trails is therefore one of the explicitly seasonal sports activities.

Disc golf is also available: the center's course has nine baskets and is suitable for beginners as well as experienced players. Discs can be rented from the main building during opening hours. If you plan to rent equipment, note the specified rental location and that rentals are subject to opening hours.

At the archery range, visitors can learn the basics of archery and try out equipment under the guidance of an instructor before taking the field course. Rental of bows and shooting equipment must be booked at least one day before use. Target shooting with virtual weapons and air guns is available in the main building year-round. This is separate from the shooting range for pistols and service weapons: during the summer season, it is 25 meters long and has 24 lanes.

If you are planning your stay around the seasons, you can choose activities accordingly: the trails and bike rentals are available year-round, while direct access to the ski trails is limited to the winter season and the 25-meter shooting range to the summer season. This gives you a clear basis for choosing activities for your trip.
