Dyjice offers several clear starting points for planning your trip: the Březinova Trail runs through the village to Nová Říše, Kočičí zámek stands on a rocky hill above the Dyje, and the U Loužku spring feeds the Loužek pond. There are also the chapel on the village square, the pastures of Rozsíčky and the Dyjické mosty motocross area. If you are looking for a hotel in Dyjice, first choose the focus of your stay: trails, heritage, landscape or motocross.

Plan your trails and motocross

The Březinova Trail runs through Dyjice to Nová Říše. For planning your trip, this identifies both a route through the village and a specific destination. The route is also associated with the poet Otokar Březina. These details answer different questions: Nová Říše helps with geographical orientation, while the connection to Březina adds a cultural perspective. Check the current route and trail markings before setting out, as both may change.

The motocross area is called Dyjické mosty and is located in Dyjice. If riding opportunities are important to your trip, check in advance whether the area is currently in use; participation conditions may change.

Kočičí zámek and its fortifications

On the rocky hill of Kočičí zámek above the Dyje stands a small fortified site with a circular residential area that has been heavily disturbed by later activity. Sparse finds date its existence to the 13th and 14th centuries. This dating places the site within a period rather than identifying a single year of foundation. On the accessible sides, a partially filled-in semicircular ditch and an outer rampart protect the site. The residential area refers to the inner settlement, while the ditch and rampart describe the outer fortifications. This allows you to understand the archaeological site both in terms of its period and its form.

Chapels, spring and pond

The chapel on the village square was rebuilt in 1883 at the community’s expense and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The date therefore marks the reconstruction; the dedication identifies the building’s religious association, while the funding reflects the community’s role in the construction. Another chapel and a cross are located above the U Loužku spring. Several benches nearby are intended for religious services. The spring feeds the Loužek pond. The names refer to different things: U Loužku is the spring, and Loužek is the pond. Check the current condition of the facilities before your visit.

Landscape around Rozsíčky

The pastures of Rozsíčky include notable trees. This is a different focus from Kočičí zámek: there, the fortifications and their archaeological context take center stage; here, the focus is a feature of the landscape. This allows you to weigh landscape and heritage separately when planning your trip.
