Skalička lies in the valley of the Lubě stream, in the hills below Paní hora and north of Kuřim. Its landscape, local history, and trails offer different starting points for planning your trip: from the old mill village to places of remembrance, a nature trail, and a marked hiking trail.

The Village in the Lubě Valley

The oldest building structure in Skalička is the Žandovský mlýn mill. It stands in the middle of the village beside the Lubě stream. Together with Skalička’s location in the valley, the mill vividly illustrates the connection between the waterway and the village landscape. For many years, the mill village has been associated with cultural and community gatherings. In this way, historic buildings and the village’s cultural use come together.

History and Places of Remembrance

The site of the former fortress in Skalička is still known as Hradisko. The fortress existed in the 16th century; a reference from 1573 already described it as dilapidated. The name therefore still points to the site of the former structure, while the written reference records its condition at the time. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas, dating from 1923, offers a different point of reference in time.

Another place of remembrance is the partisan memorial near Skalička. It was unveiled in 1946 and is dedicated to the members of General Luža’s 3rd Assault Company. Skalička’s history as a major center of anti-fascist resistance in the Tišnovsko region is also part of this story: the village played this role in 1944–1945. The memorial provides a specific point of reference, while the historical context places Skalička within the wider Tišnovsko region.

Sports Area and Water

The sports area by the artificial body of water includes a paddling pool measuring 23 × 3.5 meters. It has a volume of about 15 m³ and a water temperature of 23–25 °C. There is also a court for tennis or nohejbal. The water area and the court for ball games thus offer different recreational options. The specific dimensions and temperature describe the paddling pool, while tennis and nohejbal are the sporting activities offered at the area.

Nature Trail and Hiking Trail

The Cesty medu nature trail is about three kilometers long. Its seventh panel is on the outskirts of Skalička u Tišnova, beside a cycle path; visitors can view a glass observation beehive there. The panel’s location and the opportunity to observe the bees give this section a clear connection to bees and beekeeping.

A green-marked hiking trail runs through Skalička to the Nad Lipůvkou signpost. There, it connects to a red-marked trail in the direction of Blansko and Kuřim. The descriptions highlight different features: Cesty medu is a nature trail with a stop for observing bees, while the connection at the Nad Lipůvkou signpost is an important point of orientation on the green-marked hiking trail.

When considering Skalička as a travel destination, you can choose between local history, the theme of bees, the sports area, and the marked trails. The village’s history includes the former fortress and the mill, as well as more recent places of remembrance; the trail descriptions each mention specific stops or points of orientation.
