Accommodation in Trebotovice
Trebotovice combines a historic settlement pattern with a distinctive cultural landscape and several described routes. At the centre of the settlement stands a 25-metre-tall small-leaved lime beside the chapel and in front of the former school. The lime is a permanent feature of the landscape. The locality also has high ecological stability and a high degree of preservation of the landscape character of a harmonious cultural landscape.
Landscape and water
The Dobrovodský potok rises southeast of Trebotovice. Within the city of České Budějovice, it is the largest right-bank tributary of the Vltava after the Malše. The Trebotovice locality also includes part of the Lusný pond, on a right-bank tributary of the Dobrovodský potok. The spring, river system and section of pond offer different geographical points of reference when exploring the waterscape. “Right-bank” means that, looking downstream, a tributary enters the main river from the right.
Walks and hiking routes
Nearby, a red-marked walking trail runs from the Dobrá Voda–Točna stop to the České Švýcarsko water reservoir. There are eight information boards along the trail about the stream and its immediate surroundings. Check whether they are available on site if the boards are important to your visit. The trail links a specific waterside destination with a thematic look at the stream and its surroundings.
A forest path runs alongside the stream from Trebotovice to Dobrá Voda. Check current trail conditions in advance. A described hiking route from Trebotovice to Srubec is 6.7 kilometres long. It crosses an open meadow and then enters the forest; it follows unmarked paths through Zborov to its terminus at Srubec, Na Štětkách. Trail conditions may also change on this route.
The markings distinguish the two route descriptions: the walking trail is marked red, while the hiking route explicitly includes unmarked sections. This is a practical difference for navigation. You should also take current conditions into account when planning your route.
Village history and getting there
Trebotovice was first mentioned in a written record in 1378. The settlement is a notable variant of a High Medieval foundation village; its layout lies between the forms of a valley village and a village arranged around a common green. The date of the first written mention points to its documented history, while the classification as a foundation village describes its settlement pattern. This gives you two different perspectives on the village’s history.
Trebotovice village can be reached by city transport from the road towards Zaliny and Ledenice. Check current services and stops before your trip. This gives you both specific route destinations and the character of the settlement to help guide your plans.
