Monuments and Events Calendar
The Robert W. Whitehead memorial stands on Dobrovodská Street in Srubec. It commemorates the pilot who was shot down over Srubec on 11 April 1945; the memorial was unveiled on 28 September 1945. The monument to the victims of the First World War is in Srubec at the junction of Ledenická Street, by a pond in the centre of the village. It was unveiled in 1919 and created by sculptor Edwin Schopenhauer. The two monuments focus on different aspects of history: one commemorates a pilot and an event in 1945, while the other remembers the victims of the First World War.
