Bernartice offers two distinct themes to explore when planning your trip: the village’s history and the LamaDorádo farm, which breeds llamas. The historical record ranges from the first written mention in 1577 to later changes in the history of the estate. A visit to the farm, by contrast, is a specific activity that must be arranged in advance. If you are looking for a hotel, you can first decide whether you are mainly interested in understanding the village’s history or planning a visit to the llamas.

Local History Between the Village and the Manor House

Bernartice was first mentioned in writing in 1577. The Baroque manor house in Bernartice was first mentioned in writing in 1798. These two dates mark different points of reference: 1577 concerns the village, while 1798 concerns the manor house. The chronology can therefore be read along two lines: Bernartice’s early written mention and the later written reference to the building. For understanding local history, this distinction is more useful than combining them into a single timeline.

Until the first half of the 17th century, Bernartice belonged to the Boříkovy estate; later, it became an independent estate. Magdalena Perglarová was the first owner of this independent estate. This sequence describes a change in the village’s historical affiliation: first its association with Boříkovy, then a period as an estate in its own right. This early estate history should therefore be distinguished as a separate phase from the later changes concerning the manor house.

The manor house fell into disrepair because successive owners did not live there. In 1851, Baron Benard Kleis bought Bernartice; the village was subsequently incorporated into the Mlázovy estate. These details concern two different aspects of local history: the dilapidation refers to the building, while the later incorporation into Mlázovy refers to the village. Today, the exact location of the former manor house can no longer be determined. It is therefore a historical point of reference, but not a precisely locatable destination to visit.

LamaDorádo: Visits by Arrangement

LamaDorádo is a livestock farm in Bernartice specializing in llama breeding. Visitors can see the llamas at the farm by prior arrangement. If a farm visit is important to you, arrange it in advance. This makes LamaDorádo a specific reason to visit, distinct from the history of the village, which can be understood in its historical context: a visit to the llamas depends on a prior arrangement.

Another Travel Option: Kolinec

Kolinec is another travel option. The village is the center of a developing recreational area connected to a network of cycling and bridle paths. This offers different ways to choose your destination: Bernartice offers a historical perspective and the possibility of visiting LamaDorádo by arrangement; Kolinec is associated with cycling and bridle paths. When weighing these options, consider whether a planned farm visit or access to the connected trail network better suits your travel interests.
