If you are looking for a hotel in Pustá Rybná, two distinct natural features can shape your stay: the rock formations of the Rybenské Perničky and the Damašek Nature Reserve with its wet meadows. The rocks are defined by their form and scale; in Damašek, the stream-valley habitat and its plant and animal life shape the area's character. This contrast helps you identify your nature interests without treating geology and wetlands as the same thing.

Rock formations at the Rybenské Perničky

The Rybenské Perničky consist of two separate rock blocks of the frost cliff type. Their wall heights are 16 and 8 metres; the higher wall is therefore twice as high as the other. There are also three rock basins among the rocks. The largest is up to 60 centimetres wide and 20 centimetres deep. These measurements refer to different features: the heights refer to the two blocks, while the centimetre measurements refer to the largest basin. The geological attraction therefore encompasses both the shape of the rocks and the formation of an individual hollow.

Damašek: Peat meadows and wildlife

The Damašek Nature Reserve lies on the northwestern edge of the municipality of Pustá Rybná. It is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, in its Zone I. Its position on the edge locates Damašek within the municipality; the zone indicates its status within the protected landscape area. Natural, wet peat meadows lie in the floodplain of the meandering Hlučál stream. The stream flows in bends; its floodplain refers to the land along the watercourse. Together, the stream and peat meadows form a clearly defined landscape feature, distinct from the individual rock blocks.

Damašek's wildlife is also part of its appeal: protected and endangered plant and animal species occur in the reserve, and many rare and endangered vascular plants grow there. For a nature-focused stay, these species complement the habitat of the stream and peat meadows. Here, interest extends beyond the landscape itself to include plant and animal life.

Route and orientation

A useful landmark for finding the Rybenské Perničky is the self-service Lesní bar Na Šupalce. It is located on the cadastral boundary between Pustá Rybná and Březiny, directly beside the red-marked hiking route to the rocks. The bar is alcohol-free and offers refreshments for hikers and cyclists. If you plan to stop there, check in advance what is currently available, as the selection may change.

The two areas also differ in their location: the red-marked route is the reference point for the Perničky, while Damašek is identified by its location on the northwestern edge of the municipality and by its Zone I designation. When setting priorities for your stay, you can therefore choose between a route leading to the rocks and a nature reserve with wet peat meadows and diverse species.
