Babiččin dvoreček, two cycling routes, diverse natural areas and the Church of St. Michael the Archangel give Licibořice several specific points of interest for planning a trip. These themes differ considerably: the farm focuses on traditional farm animals and visitor activities; the natural areas reveal the landscape and habitats, while the church and bell tower offer architectural details. Cyclists can also identify two route numbers. This makes it possible to tailor your search for a hotel in Licibořice to your own travel interests.

Babiččin dvoreček and Animal Encounters

Babiččin dvoreček is located on a more than 400-year-old farm in Licibořice. It opened to the public in May 2012. The farm keeps traditional livestock, including goats, sheep, cattle and turkeys. Visitors can see the animals up close, pet them and feed them. Dědečkova obůrka, with its forest animals, is also open to visitors. The farm is therefore a specific option if animal encounters are among your travel interests. Check the current visiting arrangements before your visit.

Oak Avenues, a Pond and Protected Nature

In the Slavická obora, old oak avenues line the paths and the pond dams. Boušovka is a small forest pond in the Slavická obora. Its shallow, sunny shores provide a habitat for the rare yellow-spotted whiteface dragonfly. Old rows of trees and a specifically named habitat thus come together in the Slavická obora. The Boušovka Site of Community Importance lies within the cadastral area of Licibořice and overlaps with the Boušovka Natural Monument.

The Krkanka Nature Reserve encompasses an area with a highly varied landform, including a deep gorge carved by the Chrudimka River and its tributaries; it is also a breeding ground for the Eurasian eagle-owl. The cadastral area of the municipality of Licibořice extends into the nature reserve. For precise geographical orientation, check the course of the protected-area boundary on a current official map. Unlike the pond and oak avenues, the gorge and tributaries define the area’s natural character.

Church Architecture and Cycling Routes

The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Licibořice is a single-nave building with a rectangular floor plan and a small apse. “Single-nave” describes a church interior with one main nave; the apse is an architectural feature that forms the end of the space. The entrance portal has original wooden double doors decorated with carvings. Statues stand in niches on both sides of the façade. Another cultural landmark in Licibořice is a bell tower that was remodelled in the Baroque style. The buildings can therefore be viewed from several perspectives: the church’s basic form, the design of its portal and façade, and the bell tower.

Two routes are of particular interest to cyclists. Cycle Route 4112 passes through Licibořice between Horní Bradlo and Sezemice; Cycle Route 4177 also passes through the village. The two named places along Route 4112 provide geographical reference points, while Route 4177 can be included in your plans as another route through Licibořice. If you include either route, its number makes it easier to identify it on a map.
