Rock Formations, Cave and Nature Reserve

The name Toulovcovy Maštale comes from a legend: the robber baron Toulovec is said to have hidden with his followers in Toulovcovy Maštale during turbulent times. In the wider region, the Maštale Nature Reserve protects characteristic rock formations, consisting mostly of Cenomanian sandstone, as well as the cultural and relic pine forests found there.
Hiking Trails and Cycling Routes in Maštale
Numerous marked hiking trails cross the Maštale Nature Reserve, and many cycling routes also run through the area. If you plan your outings around an activity, you can choose between hiking and cycling.
A green-marked hiking route leads from Bor u Skutče through rock crevices to Toulovcovy Maštale. Along this route, you pass the Džberka spring.
