Hojesin appeals to travelers interested in castle history, religious culture, and walks. The small castle Zámek Hoješín and its castle park give the historical theme a tangible focus; the Chapel of the Holy Trinity adds a religious dimension. Dům sestry Elišky is another option for travelers seeking relaxation.

Castle History and Religious Culture

Karel Josef Schmiedl ze Schmieden had the small castle Zámek Hoješín built in the Rococo style in 1750. Its year of construction places the building in the mid-18th century; the style describes its original design. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity, located in Hoješín, a district of Seč, offers a different cultural perspective. The last remnants of the chapel’s stucco decoration have been preserved. This allows you to distinguish between two cultural interests: the castle’s construction date and original Rococo style are the focus at the small castle, while the chapel is notable for its surviving stucco decoration.

Castle Park: Walks, Tranquility, and an Area for Children

The castle park at Zámek Hoješín offers space for walks, prayer, and quiet. If you want your stay to be about more than buildings, you’ll also find a place here whose uses range from exercise to a quiet moment. The park includes an orchard, an apiary, utility buildings, a stone garden planted with flowers, and a pond. The combination of garden, water, buildings, and planted stone garden gives the park several distinct points of interest.

The castle park also includes an area for children. A QR-code route from Zámek Hoješín is suitable for families and all age groups. These are two different considerations for planning: the children’s area is part of the park, while the route is suitable for all age groups. Families can therefore decide whether they would rather spend time in the park or include the route in their stay.

A Place Focused on Relaxation

Since June 2021, Dům sestry Elišky has been open to families and anyone who comes to rest and replenish their physical and mental strength. Unlike castle history or walks, the focus here is on the purpose of the stay: resting and replenishing physical and mental strength. Check current visitor arrangements before your visit.

Walks and Places by the Water

The Jewish Cemetery is near Hoješín and can be reached from Hoješín via a local road; a red-marked hiking trail runs alongside it. These are two separate points of reference: the road describes how to reach it from the village, while the trail marking identifies the hiking trail by the cemetery. As markings and access conditions can change, check them before your visit.

An interesting walk leads to the inlet of the Seč Reservoir, where the Chrudimka flows into the reservoir. The destination here is the waterway itself: the point where the river flows into the reservoir. This makes the walk different from the cemetery, a named place alongside a red-marked hiking trail. When choosing between the two destinations, you can consider whether you’d rather focus on the hiking trail by the cemetery or the Chrudimka’s inlet into the reservoir.
