You can get to know Hynčina as you plan your trip by exploring its marked hiking trails, baroque sculptures and the landscape along the Ospirský potok. The trails vary in their routes and locations, while each building has its own historical and artistic features.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

A green-marked hiking trail runs from Mohelnice through Hynčina to Hoštejn. A yellow-marked trail connects the blue and green hiking trails, forming a short loop within the municipality. The green trail thus passes through three named places, while the yellow trail links two other markings in a local loop.

Cycling routes 521, 4063, 6234 and 6232 touch the outer edge of Hynčina’s administrative area but do not pass through the municipality itself. This distinction is important when planning: the hiking trails run through or within the area, while the cycling routes mentioned follow its edge. Before travelling, check the trail markers and current route in the local area.

Church of St. Stanislav

The Church of St. Stanislav is a baroque building constructed in 1725 to replace an earlier wooden church. It has been listed as a cultural monument since 1958. The church is not open to visitors. Its architecture combines a comparatively plain older core with a stylistically unified, colorful neo-baroque interior. Stucco decorations and paintings of biblical scenes shape the interior.

Baroque Sculptures

The late-baroque statue of the Immaculata of Hynčina stands beside a road on a wooded slope. Traces of its polychromy—the colored surface finish—have survived. The pedestal features a relief of St. Valentine, while the year 1776 is inscribed on the back. The relief, date and remaining traces of color offer different insights into the sculpture’s design.

Another baroque column monument in Hynčina is about three meters high and made of sandstone. It has a cylindrical shaft with a Tuscan capital, a four-sided chapel with a pyramidal roof, and an iron cross. A relief of the crucified Christ, along with depictions of the Virgin Mary and St. John the Evangelist, is carved into the chapel. The monument is thus made up of architectural elements and figurative decoration. Check its current condition locally before visiting.

The Trinity group, originally made of stone, is also part of Hynčina’s art history. It was erected in 1900 at the initiative of Rosalie and Johann Wolf, owners of the nearby mill. Today, only the pedestal remains; the sculptural group is considered lost.

The Ospirský potok Valley

The Ospirský potok Valley forms the western boundary of the municipality of Hynčina. The stream rises near Dlouhá Ves and flows into the Moravská Sázava at Popelák. The valley therefore marks the western side of the municipal area, while the stream’s source and mouth place its course in context beyond Hynčina.
