If you are planning a trip to Zlatníky and looking for a hotel, you can get to know the village through several specific points of interest: its early history, the chapel in the village centre, cycle route No. 6167 and dated events. These themes appeal to different travel interests. Historical milestones provide a sense of chronology; the cycle route and the history of local events offer further points of interest.

Local history from the Middle Ages to the 18th century

The first written mention of Zlatníky dates from 1256. At that time, Velehrad Monastery bought Zlatníky from Smil of Bílkova. Another chapter came several centuries later: from the end of the 16th century until 1718, Zlatníky was an independent estate owned by the Moš family of Bittendorf. This gives us two distinct milestones in the village’s history: an early purchase and a much later, longer-lasting period as an independent estate. In 1717, Jan Leopold Moš had a brewery built in Zlatníky. The year it was built falls within the stated period when the estate was independent, and immediately before its final year, 1718. The proximity of these dates is useful for putting events in context: the brewery was a single undertaking during a longer historical period, not its endpoint.

The chapel in the village centre

The Chapel of St John the Baptist still stands in the centre of the village square. It was built and consecrated in 1877. Its location and date answer different questions: the site places the chapel at the heart of the village, while 1877 dates its construction and consecration. A report dated 1 July 2026 also states that the chapel was blessed following its reconstruction. For visitors interested in cultural history, the chapel is a specific landmark in the village.

Cycle route and events

Cycle route No. 6167 runs from the Městské sady bus stop in Opava via Zlatníky, Stěbořice and Nový Dvůr to Hlavnice. The sequence identifies both the starting point and destination, making Zlatníky’s place along the route clear. Zlatníky is a stop between the bus stop and Hlavnice, not the beginning or end of the route. If cycling is part of your travel plans, you can use the sequence of places listed to judge whether this route suits your plans.

The seventh edition of the Guláš Fest had already taken place in Zlatníky in August 2025. Another dated event was the fish festival on 26 September 2015 at the TJ–Sokol Zlatníky sports complex, which was very popular with locals and visitors. If you would like to plan your stay around a festival, check the specific dates for your chosen period before scheduling your trip around it.
