If you’re looking for a hotel in Třinec, you can plan your trip around a specific interest: options range from industrial heritage and historic buildings to a nature trail and experiences involving art, family activities and sports.

Industrial History and Architectural Heritage

The Museum of the Třinec Ironworks and the Town of Třinec is open to the public. Dřevěnky na Borku offers a different perspective on living conditions in the past: the complex comprises two log houses dating from 1878, which are listed as cultural monuments. On a visit, you can see four residential units and learn how people used to live, work and make a living.

The Vápenná pec Jasiowka lime kiln is located in the Borek district of Třinec; lime was burned there until the 1960s. The Neo-Gothic Church of St. Albert in Třinec was built between 1882 and 1885. The church and the adjoining rectory have been protected as historic monuments since 2010. Together, these sites reveal different aspects of the region’s architectural and industrial history.

Nature Trail and Outdoor Experiences

The 2,700-metre-long Naučná stezka na Jahodné nature trail crosses Jahodná Hill and takes visitors through its flora and fauna, as well as woodland and meadows. Twelve stations mark the route. The trail starts at the Dolní Lištná, Sosna nemocnice bus stop, served by routes 715 and 701. Check the route before travelling.

In the minigolf and children’s rope park area, a forest observation station invites visitors to identify woodland animals such as deer, squirrels and foxes and hear their calls through playful activities, a bird silhouette and a mobile app. The children’s rope park, designed to blend in with its natural surroundings, features obstacles made of ropes, nets and wooden beams for participants to navigate among the trees. STARS Třinec’s minigolf course is located in Třinec Forest Park and has 18 holes.

Art and Family Activities

Galerie města Třince makes contemporary art accessible to the public through exhibitions of works on loan. It was established on 1 April 2012 with the aim of creating a professional exhibition space with a curatorial programme in Třinec. Galerie města Třince and Malá Galerie in Třinec Library also offer art classes and workshops to the public.

For the regular family activities, the age ranges help you choose between the options: PŘIJĎ TVOŘIT is a creative workshop for families with children aged six to twelve. KUKni is a regular gathering for children aged three to six and their parents. It combines books with movement and creative activities.

ČteFesT also brings together a range of cultural events. It takes place every year around the end of May and beginning of June at the library, in Třinec and in the mountains. The programme includes author readings, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, concerts and informal gatherings. If you’d like to plan your trip around the festival, check the dates for the relevant year.
