Hošťálkovy combines a Baroque church and a castle with archaeological traces, preserved examples of vernacular architecture, and trails for hiking and cycling. These attractions offer different points of interest: architectural history, early settlement, or time outdoors. If you are looking for a hotel, you can use them to get an idea in advance of what you would like your stay to focus on.

Church, Castle and Historic Village Layout

The Church of St. Michael the Archangel stands in the northern part of Hošťálkovy. The single-nave Baroque church was built in 1790–1792; its projecting western tower facade is topped with an onion dome. Its basic form, tower and dome give the church a clearly defined architectural profile. Hošťálkovy Castle is exceptionally well preserved in the Bruntál District and is listed as a cultural monument. The historic layout of a forest-strip village has also been preserved in Hošťálkovy, along with numerous valuable buildings of vernacular architecture. The built heritage therefore ranges from a single church to the traditional village layout.

Archaeological Traces and Settlement History

Luginsland, in the cadastral area of Vraclávek in the municipality of Hošťálkovy, is designated as an important archaeological site. The castle ruins there are the remains of a castle that was probably founded around the mid-13th century as a colonization outpost. The rampart and moat are among the site's surviving features.

Another archaeological area runs along the Kobylí potok between Staré Purkartice and Hošťálkovy. It includes medieval and modern-era traces; in the southwest of the cadastral area, the field pattern of a settlement has been preserved, probably dating from the colonization period. The history of Vraclávek is also part of this context: before 1564, the place was resettled by colonists, probably lumberjacks, from the area around Wrocław.

A Collection on Everyday History

The Museum of Historic Washing Machines and Washboards in Hošťálkovy–Vraclávek houses a unique collection of around 160 washing mechanisms dating from 1850–1950.

Hiking, Cycling and Natural Areas

Two marked hiking trails and an educational trail run through the municipality. Vraclávek also has a developed system of mountain bike trails called Traily Kotel. The 79 km Krnovská padesátka cycling route passes through Hošťálkovy and Vraclávek.

A trail to the Burkvíz hillfort is part of the Městský turistický okruh. The remains lie between the settlement of Burkvíz near Město Albrechtice and the municipality of Vraclávek; check the route status before setting out. The protected zone of the Krasovský kotel Nature Reserve extends into the cadastral areas of Vraclávek and Staré Purkartice.
