Bílčice is a medium-sized agricultural municipality on the right bank of the Moravice. For travelers, it brings together a clear geographical reference point, historical information, and named cycling routes. One cycling route ends in the village, while others pass through Bílčice. History and cycling thus offer different starting points for planning a trip; the route information helps you assess routes by their course and the figures provided for each one.

Local History and Cultural Monuments

Bílčice was first mentioned in 1410, when Petr of Kravaře and Plumlov transferred the village to the town of Dvorce. An evangelical parish house in Bílčice is documented as early as 1569. These two dates point to different aspects: the first mention is associated with a transfer, while the later reference relates to the village’s church history. The transfer to Dvorce and the parish house offer two different historical perspectives: one concerns the village’s relationship with the town, the other its church history.

The Church of St. Margaret, together with the cemetery’s enclosing wall, has been protected as an immovable cultural monument since May 3, 1958. Šternek Castle was first mentioned in 1397 and had already been abandoned by 1480. Its castle ruins in Bílčice are designated an important archaeological site. This makes it possible to distinguish between two different historical classifications: the church and its cemetery wall as a protected cultural monument, and Šternek as an archaeological site.

Cycling Routes Starting in and Passing Through Bílčice

Cycling Route 6152 starts in Dětřichov nad Bystřicí, passes through Panské Louky, and ends in Bílčice. Its starting point, intermediate stop, and endpoint are therefore specified. Cycling Route 6142 connects Slezská Harta with Štěrkovec and passes through Bílčice, Roudno, Nová Pláň, Valšov, and Břidličná. It is 41.5 kilometers long and runs at elevations between 490 and 860 meters above sea level. This distinction is useful when choosing a route: Bílčice is the destination on Route 6152, while on Route 6142 it lies along a connection between the two endpoints.

The cycling tour “Around the Slezská Harta Dam” passes through Bílčice, as well as Leskovec nad Moravicí, Roudno, Nová Pláň, Valšov, and Mezina, and is 43.9 kilometers long. It is rated as difficult; the listed surfaces are asphalt and gravel. When planning this tour, you can therefore take into account not only its length but also its difficulty rating and the specific types of surface.

Bus Connection and Travel Planning

A public bus route connects Bruntál, Razová, Bílčice, and Moravský Beroun. The timetable is valid from December 14, 2025, to December 12, 2026. If you want to coordinate your arrival or departure with this connection, check the timetable again before traveling. This is especially advisable if your travel date is close to the end of the stated validity period.
