Puletschnei: Chapel, Stream and Views
Accommodation in Puletschnei
Puletschnei (PuleÄŤnĂ˝) combines a long history with religious buildings and opportunities to explore the surrounding area on foot. The first documented mention of the village dates back to 1543. When planning your trip, you can choose from a range of interests: the chapel and historic monuments, the Scheybal Nature Trail, wildlife watching by the stream, or Kopanina Lookout Tower.
Chapel and historical landmarks
The chapel in PuleÄŤnĂ˝ dates from 1934 and was extensively reconstructed in 2012. Pilgrimage Masses and Advent celebrations are held there. Its architectural history and religious use give the place a specific cultural connection, though this does not imply general access to the celebrations. Other examples of religious art are also associated with their own dates and locations.
The statue of Saint Anne on the Scheybal Way was restored in 2019 and consecrated in spring 2020. The cross near house no. 23 stands in the southern part of PuleÄŤnĂ˝, east of a local road. Joseph Pietsch of PuleÄŤnĂ˝ had it erected in 1828. The two landmarks therefore differ not only in their design, but also in the recorded stages of their history.
The PietĂ ensemble is located at the upper edge of the settlement beside the road from KlĂÄŤnov to PuleÄŤnĂ˝. Its reliefs depict Saint Joseph, Saint Anne and Saint Joachim; the ensemble is dated 1795 on its shaft. The wayside shrine in PuleÄŤnĂ˝, known as a božà muka, is column-shaped and has a niche and a gilded Latin cross. It has been a protected monument since 22 April 2025. The reliefs, shaft and niche reveal different details to look out for when viewing these religious landmarks.
Stream, nature trail and lookout
A stream flows through PuleÄŤnĂ˝, where bullheads (Cottus gobio) can still be observed today. The Scheybal Nature Trail passes through the village and has 17 stops featuring notable monuments, historical stories or natural attractions. The trail therefore covers both cultural and natural themes. The number and topics of its stops help you get a sense of the trail without implying a specific duration or difficulty level.
Another hiking destination is Kopanina Lookout Tower. The brick tower dates from 1894 and can be reached on foot from Pulečný via marked hiking trails. From the top, views extend to Hruboskalsko, the ruins of Trosky, Turnov, Ještěd, the Krkonoše Mountains and Kozákov. The lookout tower thus combines a historic structure with views of several named landscapes and places, while the Scheybal Nature Trail focuses on stops within the village.
Winter activities
Cross-country skiing and downhill skiing are described as separate winter activities. A municipal notice dated 6 January 2026 mentions an approximately 30-kilometre cross-country ski circuit: it runs from HuntĂĹ™ov via Maršovice, Dalešice and PuleÄŤnĂ˝ and back to HuntĂĹ™ov. The distance is explicitly approximate. The surrounding terrain in PuleÄŤnĂ˝ is particularly suitable for children and beginners to ski downhill, thanks to its gentle slopes. This suitability applies to downhill skiing on the terrain; the circuit is the cross-country skiing option described.
