Peřimov: Jizera Bridge, Star Quartz and Folk Architecture
Accommodation in Peřimov
Peřimov lies on the Olšina stream at the foot of the Giant Mountains, in a long, open valley west of Jilemnice. On the western edge of the lower part of Peřimov’s cadastral area, the boundary follows the Jizera River. A reinforced-concrete road bridge, built in 1912, connects the two banks within the cadastral areas of Peřimov and Dolní Sytová. The landscape, natural monument and architectural history give the village several distinct, clearly identifiable points of interest. If you are looking for hotels in Peřimov, these can help you decide whether you are most interested in the valley, natural history or historic architectural styles.
Valley, Jizera and Star Quartz
The Strážník National Nature Monument protects a unique crystallographic form of quartz known as star quartz. The Strážník locality lies 2 km southwest of Peřimov and includes both the area of the natural monument and the rocks at the summit of Strážník. This distinguishes the wider locality from the protected natural monument.
The locality can only be reached by car with an access permit; the road comes to within about 250 m of it. Confirm this access information before setting out. Another landmark in the landscape is Hrobka Hill, 509 m high, south of Peřimov. Strážník and Hrobka therefore provide two reference points in different locations for finding your way around the area.
Buildings with different histories
Chalupa čp. 16 is a listed cultural monument and a timber-framed building. Alterations around the turn of the 1960s and 1970s changed its original character; a large living room and a finely crafted gable finial have been preserved. Its history thus combines later changes with clearly identifiable surviving features.
The “Na Skalí” farmstead, čp. 76, was built in 1847 and stands on steeply sloping ground above the local stream. It is an excellent example of folk architecture of the developed chamber-and-stable type. While Chalupa is notable for its alterations and surviving features, “Na Skalí” is distinguished by its date, hillside setting and building type.
The former Lukšův mlýn is a technical monument complex on the Peřimovský potok, along the road between Peřimov and Mříčná. Its features point to late Neoclassicism from the mid-19th century. The mill thus complements the residential and farm buildings with a former mill site and a technical perspective.
Events and local occasions
“Pouť kolem Peřimova” is a walking and running event that follows almost the entire boundary of the municipality. The date listed for 2025 was August 2; the 2026 events calendar listed August 1. These dates refer to different years and events.
For the Peřimovská pouť, a celebration on Saturday, the traditional pilgrimage on Sunday and a closing get-together on Monday were announced for August 1–3, 2026. The volunteer fire brigade SDH Peřimov invited visitors to its “Vepřové hody” pork feast on October 4, 2025, from 2 p.m. at V Klubu in Peřimov.
A performance by the children’s ensemble Na Peříčku also has a specific date: a performance of “Pohádky z Krakonošovy zahrádky” was announced for June 14, 2026, at 4 p.m. in the covered area of V Klubu. If events are important to your travel plans, check the relevant announcement.
