If you are looking for hotels for a trip to Výrava, the reason for your visit can help determine your priorities: attending a concert, exploring local history or taking a walk in the V ráji biocentre. Výrava brings together a concert tradition dating back to 1998, two chapels, a memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars, and two named biocentres. For attending an event, the date and bus services are particularly relevant; the historical and natural attractions offer other points of interest.

Concerts in Výrava

Since 1998, Letní Parket Výrava has held concerts featuring Czech and foreign performers. Dates and performers may change. If a concert is the reason for your trip, check the programme for your intended travel dates and see which performers are announced.

Letní Parket Výrava offers free bus rides to and from all events. Bus arrangements and departure times may vary by event. Before planning your trip, check the information for the event in question and its bus services, especially if you want to coordinate your accommodation with your outward and return journeys.

Chapels and memorial

Výrava was first mentioned in writing in 1406. The Chapel of the Nativity of St John the Baptist was built in 1906–1907 on the site of an older chapel. The dates refer to different events: the first written mention of the village and the later construction of a chapel on a site that had already been used for a chapel.

The Marian Chapel was built in 1868. It stands in the upper part of the village, in the direction of Jílovice, above a spring. This chapel is therefore associated with both a specific year of construction and a distinctive connection to the landscape.

The memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars is at Výrava 104, next to the municipal office in the village centre. It was ceremonially unveiled on 28 October 1948. Unlike the Marian Chapel in the upper part of the village, the memorial is identified by its address and its location next to the municipal office in the centre.

Biocentres and landscape

The V ráji biocentre was established in 1997 on the Malostranský potok (Číbr), in the cadastral area of the municipality of Výrava. It serves as an oasis for wildlife and a place for walks. Its connection to the stream, wildlife and walking gives this biocentre its own distinctive landscape character.

The U Vrbiček biocentre, also known as Ve Vrbičkách, was established in 1996 based on a plan by Ing. Pavel Trávníček, on the Libníkovický potok. The pond within it is sometimes called Vrbičky and covers 1.9588 hectares. The stream names help distinguish the two biocentres: V ráji is on the Malostranský potok (Číbr), while U Vrbiček is on the Libníkovický potok.
