Podůlší is located on the eastern side of Brada Hill. The road from Jičín to Turnov divides Podůlší into Horní Podůlší and Dolní Podůlší. Cultural Monuments and Local History

A statue of the Holy Trinity, considered an important cultural monument, is located in Dolní Podůlší. Another cultural object is the theater curtain of Podůlší. It was restored and declared a cultural monument in 1994. The curtain, dating from 1927, depicts the municipality with Brada, a hill, and a small church in the background. Svatopluk Čech, the patron of the theater association, is also portrayed. The curtain thus connects a depiction of the municipality with a reference to the local theater association, while the statue is another distinctive cultural monument in Dolní Podůlší.

The Battle of Podůlší took place on June 29, 1866. The main forces facing each other were the Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 48 and units of the Austrian Poschacher Brigade. These units included the II Battalion and three companies of the k. u. k. 34th Infantry Regiment, as well as one company of the k. u. k. 30th Infantry Regiment. The theater curtain draws attention to the municipality and its theater association; the battle can be placed in context by its precise date and the troops involved. Educational Trail and Cycling Route

The “Battle of Jičín” educational trail passes through Podůlší. It is 29 kilometers long and has 22 stops with 26 information panels. Reservations are available for a minimum of 60 and a maximum of 180 minutes—that is, from one to three hours.
