Tušovice: Tušílkovy Trails and Local History
Accommodation in Tušovice
Tušovice offers two routes with different focuses: the Tušílkovy Trails. The green route is aimed primarily at families with small children, while the orange route is mostly educational. There is also a cycling route, local events and historical landmarks. You can plan your stay around playful activity stations, an educational route, cycling or local history. To compare the trails, their length and the number and character of their stations are especially useful.
Comparing the Tušílkovy Trails
The green Tušílkova Trail is 2.9 kilometres long and has eleven playful stations. A municipal description from June 2026 calls this green route renovated. The orange Tušílkova Trail – nové osudy is 3.3 kilometres long and has twelve mostly educational stations. It is therefore 0.4 kilometres longer and has one more station; the green route focuses on play, while the orange one focuses on learning. Both Tušílkovy Trails cross easy terrain along paved paths and forest trails, and are suitable for jogging strollers.
There is a small parking area for up to six cars at the start of the Tušílkova Trails, next to the multi-purpose sports field. If you arrive by car, take this limit into account when planning. The multi-purpose sports field in Tušovice can be reserved online in advance.
Cycling route and events
For cyclists, route 8212 runs through Řeteč, Tušovice, Tochovice and Třebsko. Check the route number and course locally before setting off.
Tušovický kapřík is a recurring fishing event. The 12th edition took place on 31 May 2026 at the upper pond. The programme included fun games and skill-based games, fishing and light refreshments. If you are considering attending a future edition, check the date with the municipality.
The Tušovické osmičky fire brigade competition also continues to be held. The 2023 edition had categories for men, women and children. The two events therefore have different focuses: fishing and games are part of the Tušovický kapřík programme, while the Tušovické osmičky centres on the fire brigade competition.
Local history and historical traces
Tušovice was first mentioned in 1359, when it was owned by the Vladik Ondřej z Tušovic. In 1544, a fortress with a manor farm and the village are recorded as the property of Elena z Tušovic. A fortress is a fortified structure; the property recorded in 1544 also included the manor farm and village.
Slavic burial grounds are located on Tušovický vrch, south of Tušovice, and near Hrobice, north of the village. These places give two different directional reference points for the historical traces: a hill to the south and Hrobice to the north of Tušovice.
