Rybníky offers two specific focal points for planning a trip: marked hiking trails and historic sacred buildings. The Kocába watercourse flows through the village; the Kocába Valley is also part of the route of a yellow-marked trail. When planning your stay, you can therefore consider your preferred route and your interest in architectural history as separate planning factors.

Choose hiking trails by their route

A red-marked hiking trail runs along the western edge of the administrative area of Rybníky. Its route leads from Strž near Staré Huti and the Karel Čapek Memorial via Budínek and Budín to Daleké Dušníky, and onward to Nečín. A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Dobříš through Josefovo údolí into the administrative area of Rybníky, then continues northeast through the Kocába Valley. The main differences are in their orientation: the red route runs along the western edge and follows a sequence of places; the yellow route comes from the direction of Dobříš and passes through the Kocába Valley. Base your choice on the stated starting directions and places that matter for your hiking plans.

Sacred buildings and architectural history

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is located on the eastern edge of Budínek, on the road between Budínek and Rybníky. At the same time, it lies on the western edge of the cadastral area and municipality of Rybníky. The compact building has a rectangular floor plan, a polygonal presbytery, and rich Rondocubist decoration. The presbytery is the chancel area of the chapel; its polygonal shape complements the rectangular floor plan. In addition to the chapel, the protected site includes a cast-iron cross standing to its west and the associated plot.

The Rybníky Evangelical Church is a Neoclassical building with a small tower and a barrel-vaulted roof. It was built in 1847 and solemnly opened on September 28 of the same year. For an architectural comparison, the Neoclassical features of the church can be set against the chapel’s Rondocubist design.

Plan your journey to Rybníky

Rybníky is served by regular bus route 303 054 (D54) between Dobříš, Drevníky, and Županovice. If you are traveling by bus, check the latest departure times before setting off. For road orientation, the II/119 is relevant: it is the main road connection from Dobříš southeast into the cadastral area of Rybníky. From different perspectives, both the bus route and the road connection point to Dobříš as a named reference point.
