Malíkovice combines natural attractions with a local history brought to life by the Church of All Saints and the former fortress. Together with the associated settlements of Čanovice and Hvězda, the village is part of the Přírodní park Džbán Nature Park. Local highlights also include Malíkovická stráň, the lady’s slipper orchid and a 400-year-old English oak. This gives you two distinct themes to consider when choosing a destination: landscape and protected plants on the one hand, and ecclesiastical and manorial history on the other.

Nature and landscape

The nature park is considered an extensive area of significant natural and landscape value. Malíkovická stráň borders the southern edge of Malíkovice and is a habitat of the lady’s slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus). The Červené dolíky area covers the cadastral territory of Malíkovice and protects the lady’s slipper orchid. Both references are to the same orchid species, but at different spatial scales: the stráň is associated with the southern edge of the village, while Červené dolíky is associated with its cadastral territory. An English oak that is 400 years old also stands east of Malíkovice. This brings together a broad landscape, a specific plant habitat and a single tree with a precise age and location.

Church and former fortress

The Church of All Saints in Malíkovice was already a parish church in 1384; a sacristy was added to it in 1826. These dates mark different aspects: its early ecclesiastical role and a later structural addition. The former fortress was first mentioned in 1418. After Malíkovice ceased to be a noble seat, the former fortress was gradually adapted for agricultural purposes. It is also designated as an area with archaeological finds. Thus, ecclesiastical use, an earlier manorial role and later adaptation for agriculture represent distinct historical themes. A sacristy is a room adjoining a church where clergy prepare for services and store liturgical objects. The addition made in 1826 is therefore a specific detail of the local church’s architectural history.

Carp pond and event

The carp pond is also part of the village’s profile. It was revitalised and dredged between 2013 and 2014. For the period 2022–2026, the municipal strategy plan notes that the pond is used especially in summer by local residents and tourists. Rozloučení s prázdninami (Farewell to the Holidays) is described as a traditional event featuring outdoor entertainment and a gathering with local people celebrating milestone birthdays. These details offer different pointers for planning a trip: pond use is particularly associated with summer; if you want to plan your stay around the event, check the dates in advance.
