Lašovice: Cycling routes and cultural heritage in a rural setting
Accommodation in Lašovice
Lašovice combines a landscape shaped by agriculture with cycling routes and traces of cultural history. Three themes are central to planning your trip: the transition from agricultural land to a more wooded valley, the different ways several cycling routes relate to the village, and historic buildings and artworks.
Landscape between stream, fields and forest
The Lašovický potok flows through the eastern part of Lašovice and joins the Rakovnický potok near the railway station. In the area of Lašovice, the Lašovický potok and the road between Pavlíkov and Pustověty mark the boundary of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. The surrounding area is intensively farmed; forested areas increase towards the valley of the Rakovnický potok. As a result, cultivated land meets an increasingly wooded valley. If you also choose your destination based on its landscape, this transition offers a specific point of reference: agriculture shapes the surrounding area, while the forest becomes more prominent towards the valley.
Cycling routes and a walking route in the village area
Several cycling routes are mentioned. Cycling route No. 303 between Rakovník and Křivoklát is part of the Berounka–Střela Greenway; a section of the route is by Lašovice railway station. A cycling tour along the Rakovnický potok passes through Lašovice. Cycling route No. 0046 also runs through the village area. The routes relate to the village in different ways: for No. 303, both endpoints and its place in the Greenway are specified; the cycling tour along the stream passes through Lašovice; and No. 0046 runs through the village area. When planning, follow the designation of the specific route and check the current signs and conditions before setting out.
A red-marked KČT walking route reaches the edge of Lašovice. Its relationship to the village therefore differs from that of the cycling tour along the stream, which passes through the village. If you are planning a specific walk, check the exact route before setting out.
History and architectural heritage
Lašovice was first mentioned in writing in 1143, when it was recorded as property of the Premonstratensian Strahov Monastery. A point of cultural and historical interest is the Baroque stone statue of St. John of Nepomuk, dating from the 18th century. It stands beside a country road about 180 m west of the edge of the village, on the road to Všetaty, and is an immovable cultural monument. A preserved timber-framed barn also stands in Lašovice.
The exterior, including the roof, of the bell tower in Lašovice was repaired. A municipal notice from 2023 described repairs to the interior as planned. This clearly distinguishes the completed exterior work from the plans for the interior at that time.
Plan your journey and stay
Lašovice railway station is part of the integrated transport system. If you plan to use it for your journey, check the current connections before travelling; transport arrangements can change. The local landscape, the different route connections and the cultural monuments offer various points of reference for planning your stay in Lašovice.
