Konojedy combines late Baroque and historic monuments with landscapes shaped by forests and water. When choosing a destination for your stay, you can first decide what interests you most: architectural history, nature, or a pilgrimage cycling route. Churches, a spring, a protected area, and bus and cycling connections offer different points of interest. Be sure to take into account the specific conditions for bus travel, the cycling route, and movement within the reserve as appropriate to your plans.

Baroque Architectural History and Memorials

The Church of St. Wenceslas in Konojedy is a protected late Baroque cultural monument. It was built between 1766 and 1777 and consecrated on January 10, 1778. The construction period and consecration date are two separate milestones in the town's history; the consecration took place the year after construction was completed.

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was built in 1838 and is an important historic monument in Konojedy. It was built more than six decades after the Church of St. Wenceslas. Thus, two religious buildings from different periods in the town's history stand side by side: the church is precisely dated by its construction period and consecration date, while the chapel is dated by its year of construction.

Another historic point of interest is the memorial stone to Prince Jan Lichtenstein. It commemorates the prince and is also one of the town's historically significant monuments. Unlike the church and chapel, this memorial focuses on remembering a named individual. The cultural highlights therefore include both religious architectural history and a memorial dedicated to a specific person.

Forests, Protected Area, and Water

West of Konojedy, extensive mixed forests gradually give way to the protected Voděradské bučiny area. Voděradské bučiny is a national nature reserve; visitors are restricted to marked trails. If you plan to visit the reserve, this trail restriction is essential to bear in mind while moving around there.

The Konojedský potok runs below Konojedy along the cadastral boundary through the Losi valley to the Jevanský potok. The stream forms a distinct landscape feature alongside the transition from mixed forests in the west: its course leads from the area below the town, through the valley, to a named endpoint.

The Zlodějka spring, which is considered never to run dry, lies in the Čtrnáctka forest. Conditions at the spring can vary seasonally.

Bus Route and Pilgrimage Cycling Route

PID bus route 659 serves the stops “Konojedy,” “Konojedy, pila,” and “Konojedy,Klíče.” Check departure times and possible diversions before your journey. If you want to travel to a particular stop, match the stop name to your timetable; the three stops are listed separately.

The “Loreta Praha – Křemešník” pilgrimage cycling route passes through Konojedy via cycle route 1. Check the detailed cycling conditions before setting off. For planning purposes, the information about the bus route and the cycling route differs: for bus travel, the key details are the stop, departure time, and possible diversion; for cycling, they are the route and conditions along the way. This helps you assess transport information in a way that suits your type of travel.
