If you’re looking for a hotel in Erts, local attractions can help you plan your trip around your interests: the via ferrata, cycling route and church architecture offer different points of interest. The Roc de la Coma d’Erts Via Ferrata is rated moderate. It follows long rock steps secured with chains on the left side of the route, as well as exposed, mildly strenuous sections. To assess the route, consider both its moderate rating and the exposed passages described. The summit is at an altitude of 1,650 metres, and the route faces southwest. Check the access information locally before setting out; it may change.

Cycling routes and road layout

Cycling Route 10 (Erts–Pal) starts in the village of Erts, halfway between La Massana and Arinsal, and is 8.4 kilometres long. If the distance is important to your choice, Route 10 provides a specific figure; for the via ferrata, the key details are its difficulty rating, rock steps and exposed sections. The two activities therefore differ in the planning details described.

On the Port of Cabús route towards Erts, the road section up to the Poble d’Erts roundabout is initially wide and has a cycle lane. After that, the road narrows and has no shoulder as far as the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit towards Pal. Check the signs as you go; road conditions may change.

Sant Romà d’Erts: architectural history and features

The church of Sant Romà d’Erts dates from the 18th century and was built near the old Romanesque chapel. Above the entrance is a double bell gable, and the church also has a porch. Inside, a Baroque altarpiece from the old church has been preserved. Its paintings depict the martyrdom of Saint Roman. Thus, the bell gable and porch are features of the building itself, while the altarpiece preserves the traditional imagery.
